Bagel is currently on dry kibbles. Have tried various brands and eventually settled on two. The previous brand got recalled and just heard from the petshop I frequent that the current one I'm using have got problems too. Hence am contemplating on switching to home cooked food. What do you guys think? All help and comments will be much appreciated.

Concerns are will home cook food provide a balance diet? If not, what supplements to add? What if over feed supplements? How much to feed?

Time wise that should not pose a problem as I'm usually quite free and when I'm not, I've got a helper at home to help with cooking. And does home cook food or kibbles lead to longer life? Internet provides mixed answers.

Whew! finally finished uploading all the pics. Blogger should SERIOUSLY improve their uploading photos system, took sooo long! Anyway, brought Bagel to the new Dairy Farm Nature Park and was quite surprised to find such a nice view, Singapore standards at least. Many of the pictures would have been perfect if only she looked at the camera, grr...

This is another park - Bukit Batok Nature Park, which wasn't as nice but had lots of monkeys. And apparently lots of fleas and ticks too, which we discovered to our horrors when we reached home. But fortunately we managed to get them all off and she's once again fleas and tick free :D Never gonna bring her back there again! It was really funny as well, cos we got lost, or rather I got lost and went through steep slopes and stairs through the hiking path. And Bagel was so tired on the way to back that when she saw the steps, you could practically see her look of horror and exhaustion which was hilarious!! She then stopped and refused to move and had to be encouraged and tugged on the leash several times before she'd move, stopping frequently to pant and glare at me. XP

And finally SENTOSA! Brought her to Singapore's one and only beach that allow dogs. And the first place she went is of course the hot dog stand *faintz*. There was this other big brown dog there which she played with, and when they left, she started running away *faintz some more* and being a slow runner, I couldn't catch her and had to have random strangers helping me catch my runaway dog. How absolutely embarrassing...

Yippee!!! Our 1st award ever!!! :D :D :D

hm haha hopefully this'd be the start of many :p contemplating bringing bagel back to class so as to have a shot at competing BUT there's the problem of time constraints, bagel's school fees and getting a different trainer. Her current trainer uses a choker chain, which we are comfortable with previously but now that she has calm down and behaving, am contemplating the necessity of using it on her. Furthermore, her trainer also recommends the use of an electric collar thingy for upper levels of obedience since she still gets very excited amongst dogs, and that we are truly not very comfortable with. I mean it's fine since i've tried it on myself n it doesn't hurt n all and is truly as slight as an ant's bite but it's sort of like as a last resort. And other trainers that uses treat training here doesn't seem to be very good, like many of the dogs in our neighbourhood who went through trainers who uses trick training, the dogs are not much different from being untrained. I myself do prefer treat training since that's what I used to teach Bagel tricks but can't seem to find a good and reliable trainer. :( o wells, shall wait and see then

Sigh man I miss Bagel. Am currently on holiday, visiting my 2 wonderful sisters in London and Dumfries. And it has only been 3 days, while I'm staying for 1.5 months! Sigh sigh sigh. When leaving the house darling bagel was caught chewing on greeting cards in the night, and got scolded by me. So being the attitude dog she is, didn't wanted to send me off but kept running away :( haha in the end had to use a treat to bribe her sigh. What kinda dog is she!! Aren't dogs supposed to be all loyal and everything?! haha. Anyways, she's doing very well at home, only looked for me the very 1st day but after knowing my maid's gonna bring her out for her walks and all, have settled very well. Sigh man I truly missed her. Anyways, would like to ask around out there if anybody knows any 1) nice and big petshops 2) cheap petshops in London and Dumfries?

Muahaha... seeing how negligent xt has been in updating MY blog *sulks*

I've decided to take matters into my own hands MUAHAHA

My post shall henceforth be in PINK :D while xt's shall be the usual boring black...and may I just add, really, can't humans ever get anything done right!?! you get them to buy you treats, they buy you every-eeky-thing else like ear-cleaning solution, neem oil etc., you ask them to bring you for a long walk, they get you lost SIGH and when you ask them to do the simplest task of blogging, they get lazy! I mean how hard can typing be!?

Anyways, yippee xt's exam's FINALLY over!!! I've been sooo bored! And seeing her study, well not so hard, it got me thinking... Maybe, just maybe I should start improving myself too. After all, there's always this chinese saying that says one should never stop learning. And so it got me thinking... how could I improve myself??

Well fortunately one day, eureka! I decided to be just abit ambitious and thought, wow the highest level of learning one could reach is ENLIGHTENMENT. I know, impressive right! And so I set on to search my journey for enlightenment. I look through the whole house and tada! I found it! The book to enlightenment by BUDDHA herself!

O well, that's all that's left of it, I mean what else do you expect a dog to do with a book?! And seriously, you would think that xt would be soo proud of me in wanting to improve myself, but alas no! I got a huge big scolding from her... sigh once again, HUMANS! never satisfied! humph

Was reading the 1st post till now and man, was it a long journey till now. Have kind of forgotten how hard it was bringing up bagel, how horrible she used to be and man, am real happy at how she turned out to be now. All the past frustrations, hard work and all have indeed paid off into what we how have, a friendly, submissive, relatively obedient, least to say intelligent not-so-small furmaly member. :D anyways, seeing how extremely negligent I have been in updating dear bagel's blog, there might be possibilities of her hijacking this blog :p but oh wells, all that shall be after my exams and man may I say it's truly indeed thank goodness for all the other doggy blogs out there that provide much needed reprieve from studying each day :p alright back to studying and update overload to come in a week's time :D hm and to serve as a reminder, I so must remember to update my blog list too...

Bagel's loooong belated birthday post

This loooong overdue post is of Bagel's 1st birthday!!!! on the 12th of jan. Haha, totally excited and happy just thinking back. Had a mini celebration for her in our neighbourhood park with 2 GRs, and a mongrel puppy. Didn't manage to snap the puppy's photo though, since it was so dark, or any of the other dogs that day, but anw dug up some old photo of theirs. So yup brought her to the park to play, whereupon my mum brought the cake. It was really funny though, cos one of the GR, Joy, saw the cake, could not contain her excitement and smashed her head straight into the cake. And obviously, much to the chagrin of the owner and the amusement of the rest of us. Fortunately, I had already save a laarge piece for us, humans. :p Tried the cake too and I must say dog cakes are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! so much more than human cakes!! We got her banana (her fav) flavoured cake, with vanilla cream toppings. And boy was it yummy! The banana was nicely fragrant, not like those sickening smell of human banana cakes, and the vanilla was oooh drool worthy too. And what was best of it all was it had just the right amount of sweetness to it yet being really fragrant! Haha yes as one can see i truly enjoyed the cake :p
O the owner of Joy had a little girl who made this cute little birthday hat for bagel. It was soooo SWEET of her :D was looking for it in supermarts but they were all too big. And obviously we took a loong loong time putting it on her, and she took a short short time taking it out.

This was her yummy dinner after the cake in the park. Was not intending to give her kibbles but since she only manage at the end to eat very little cake, decided to add in her kibbles to the yummy steamed chicken slices. O and cos she's real submissive, she didn't feel very comfortable eating with so many dogs eyeing her cake i think, cos she eats real slow while the others finished theirs real fast. So anw, being the slow eater she is, some other dog came and helped her finish up :p heh fortunately I told my mum to bring home a biiig slice so i shared my piece with her.

And this is the adorable Joy. She's reallly cute and has really nice soft fur. And did i mention she's reaal pretty too? The mongrel puppy was so mesmerized by her he kept humping her throughout the mini party. And he's only 3 months!

O boy, yes. Scandalous shot of the birthday girl and her beau. Blush blush.

Love this pic!! And this handsome goldie here is Max. Bagel's first boyfriend and bff. Sadly though he'd be moving in feb 10. :( He's truly my FAVOURITE GR. Really cute and obedient. And he'd never fail to give me a hug whenever he sees me. He's kinda like the dog of the neighbourhood actually, everybody, old and young, absolutely lurves and adores him.

And this is Bagel's birthday cake. Real pretty right! Totally happy with it :D

And these are her birthday pressies from her loving owner... ME. Joy's owner gave her a ball as well, which was really sweet of them :D haha but sadly i've been too lazy to take pic of it yet :p so will upload it in the future. :D

As you can see the last toy already has a bite mark in it. O n most of the toys have already been destroyed in varying degrees by now.

Bagel's christmas presents

Remember the saying always be careful of what you wish for? Well me and bagel truly understood what it meant this christmas... And yes! Bagel's christmas wish did come true, and she did get a boyfriend for christmas! Except that the boyfriend weren't quite as wonderful as expected... Anyways, presenting FLASH, the 7 yr old beagle! (drum rolls) haha and yes her boyfriend's kinda old and pedophilic huh.

Flash is a really intelligent and obedient boy. The PERFECT dog to have, that is if he is the only dog in the house. K brief history about him. Stayed mainly in the garden of his 1st owner, all the way till he was 6 and adopted by a wonderful family (current). So yup my guess is not much socialisation. Because he's really very wonderful, holds his own leash on walks, calm, lies around for people to pat, very grass trained, extremely loyal and follows people around, wait at the door till people comes home... yeah well perfect.

However, put in another dog in the house, and he could be quite a terror. Not to say that he is aggressive, because he's very polite and friendly to dogs. So the problem is the constant humping. Haha so yes bagel got a humping machine for christmas. Initially they got along fine, Bagel didn't really mind the humping much but after awhile, she started getting annoyed, and that's where the problem started, when play escalated to something slightly more serious. But fortunately nope, no scuffles so far, just abit more teeth, harder bites and a more stiff tail and spine. But usually when things progress to such, I'd separate the 2. So yep, I guess bagel's christmas gift didn't turn out too well.

Furthermore, Flash is an extremely jealous boy. After winning a staring contest with dear boy here who refuses to keep quiet, to listen to us, and even snapped at us on the very first day for trying to get him off the couch through his collar, and when that failed by nudging his bum, he kinda recognised me as the head and has been sticky as glue since. Doesn't do the same to other members of the family. So yes when the 2 of them are out, he absolutely refuse to let bagel near me. And everytime when bagel approaches me, he humps her away.

And I also realise that all these humping, not only due to boy-girl gender differences, or even dominance but also simple that seems to be the only way he knows to play... Because, and this is only my guess, when bagel tried approaching him with balls and toys, he humps her. And when I tried to play toys with him, he tried to hump me too. Hm so only guess I could derive was that that must be the only way he knows how to play. O yes and another reason to be careful what one wishes for... Because he doesnt know to stop, when bagel lies down or sits to prevent being humped, he scratches and claw her till he could grip her to hump. Hence bagel is now full of scratch marks at her belly, even with abit of skin scratched off. Sigh and so yes, not a very good christmas this year for both of us. O ya and both are sterilized.

However, as I mentioned, he is a very wonderful doggy to have if he was the only dog in the house. Extremely loyal, cried an entire day and waited at the door the whole day when his owners left. Even in the midst of deep slumber with thunderous snores, he'd jump up awake at the sound of passing cars.

O ya and the reason why we are temporarily boarding him is cos he's family's out on a holiday and cannot find a boarding place this last minute. Haha but well i do believe they are gonna get quite a shock when they see him upon their return, as he lost quite alot of weight. Was really plump when he came but his figure is kinda balancing out what with the exercise he is getting from his humping fest and his daily 1-2hours walk.

And reason why for some queer reason I thought the perfect christmas gift for her will be a boyfriend? It's cos she always look so lonely at home :( She loves dogs, and the other 2 times I helped take care of dogs overnight, she was overjoyed, and 1 of the other dog had fun with her too. well the schnauzer didn't really have fun obviously what with cheeky bagel playing with his ahem. And just the night before i agreed to take care of flash, i took her out on a walk, whereupon i met a friend. So i tied her up and she waited nicely for me for and hour. During which, she was inching closer and closer to my friend's dog till she finally lay down beside the dog, looking extremely contented. Haha and for her 1 hour's effort, it lasted only 5 min for the other dog stood up to leave and go sleep at her sleeping spot in the house. Leaving a bagel with a very hurt look, a sigh as she proceed to lay down and wait for me to finish my convo.

So yup, so sad right. But oh wells nope, after this experience, bagel is soo gonna be the only dog in the house. It's too tiring for me, and poor her seems to get less affection too since we hafta split our attention. Well hee hopefully i'll get my license real quick and she'd be able to go for more swimming and dog run trips :D O yes and speaking soo much on how not very wonderful flash is around dogs, bagel obviously is no saint as well. Since she has this terrible habit of thinking that whatever the other dog has is better than her own. And obviously she gets scolded and punished when she keeps changing her mind about the bone in her mouth and going for flash's, although both bones are exactly the same!

Anyway fortunately I got her other things besides a partner :D

and the BEST OF THEM ALL!!! I got her a food dehydrater!!! Basically it's a snackmaker, so bagel's gonna have really yummy homemade dehydrated treats in addition to those from the petshop of course. Haha terrible I know, splurging and pampering her the way I do.

O yes, and this wonderful snackmaker not only can make delicious healthy treats for dogs but also for humans! It can dehydrate meats, fruits, herbs flowers, and even beef jerky! As well as (ew) healthy muesi bars and whatnots. Anyway, have tried pig ears, chicken, duck which she luuurves. And pig tongue, pig heart, and internal organs which i'm not gonna make again since I do not like the smell if the treats. Other than the ears, all piggy stuffs tend to have this piggy smell...

So yup, here concludes Bagel's 1st christmas with us and hopefully many more to go. :D

Swimming!!! Sleepover & updates

This is what happens when a beagle pup panics. Once when she was young, we packed all her bags and went out to put in the car. She recognizes that bag as her 'gai-gai' bag n thought that we had forgotten to bring her. :p Screamed (iterally), jumped (n note how high she could jump in addition to being able to climb her playpen at that young age), and sprinted from one end of the playpen to the other.

Totally tired out after a day of swimming for her life :p

GUSH GUSH!!!

Another dog swimming there. There was 2 other golden retrievers. And all of them loves swimming...

This is the cute ah peh dog that we took care of one night. Very teh dog, much like pebbles. But very cute and obedient. Although he keeps marking bagel's house. Haha so by the next morn, bagel's house was completely covered with the dog's super potent pee that took 3 days to remove the scent :s haha O yes, and ma n pa totally adored him. And bagel followed him everywhere he went, kissing him the entire time. O yes and embarrassingly, cos bagel nv c unneutered dog before i think, before they slept, bagel realised the nice droopy ball just hanging and swaying beneath his legs. So started to use her paw to play with it. SPEECHLESS. haha n of cos she got scolded for doing that.

Brought bagel over to club4paws for a swim. Haha, she totally didn't want to go into the water, think it's due to forcing her to swim in the sea in east coast park, so she might have gotten scared :p o well doesnt matter, that just means hafta let her relearn that swimming is fun is all :D O yes, and bought the fussy girl a yummy homemade dog lunch and being the fussy pooch she is, she ate the beef pieces and left the potatoes alone >_<#

Two days ago, had a dog staying over our place as well. Bagel absolutely adored him and so did the rest of the family. He is really quite cute but heh realise bias me still adore bagel the most. O ya and in the night bagel constantly barked at 2hr intervals to come out to play with him. Absolutely tiring. But good thing is realise from this stayover that it'd be totally fine getting a 2nd dog, since bagel has no problem getting along with other dogs, even at her house and that the 2nd dog must either be bigger or same size as her. Because although she was very gentle with the doggy :D haha they couldnt play since he's so tiny. Anw enjoy the pics. O ya there are some overdue pics as well.

Wonderful weekend

Bagel had a superbly wonderful weekend :D
On Sat, brought her to the dog run where she ran and played, rolled in the mud, ate some dog's vomit (MEGA EW).
On Sun, brought her to East Coast Park in the morning. Original plan was to try out either cycling with her beside or rollerblading with her beside. But no no, Bagel had plans of her own. While my dad went to get the bike, she happily climbed up a rock on the beach. So I tried to climb the steep and high rock to accompany her, whereupon she CHANGED HER MIND. Jumped down frm the rock, hence i had no choice but to let go of the leash or i'd fall, as her clumsy owner was only half way teetering up the steep rock. And yes happily jumped into the sea and started swimming around. Scared the wits out of me. But oh wells, discovered she's a natural swimmer. Haha, but later on had to drag her into the sea, as think she was afraid of the waves, she didnt want and kept swiming on to shore. So seeing that she can swim, most prob gonna bring her to turf city next where heard there's a dog pool there :D haha n I'd rem to take pictures then for her dearest xy and xw.

O ya and after which she starte digging huge holes in the sand and burying her head in. It was quite funny actually, but sadly, hand was wet n weren't able to get any pics :(

Anw downside of the whole weekend, she had to be bathed in 3 consecutive days and the last of which, she had to be blown dry. Kept screaming at the hairdryer and had to be scolded, till she quietly but glumly lay there for me to blowdry, though occassionally letting out grumbles. haha n man she really grumbles. never knew dogs grumbled till her... or like her. :S

Alrite updates on bagel 1st. She's generally more obedient, still notti so still teaching, noes alot of tricks, but still haf many bad behaviours such as mouthing, playbiting, nipping n recently humping. when she sees monkeys, will go 2 1 corner n shiver, siam when sees rats n cats. ok haha lazy 2 type liao anw e new dog isonly here for a trial, horrible tho it may sounds. he's 7 yrs old, neutered, i guess obedient haha cos charmaine say obedient but den bagel responds better 2 my commands la. but den again cld b cos he dunno us yet. bt he has no bad habits lyk bagel so yup. o family hafta give up cos hafta shift 2 small house n cannot keep. anw hopefully everything'd turn out fine. :D

Bagel passed her basic obedience exam ON THE DOT. haha think more like e trainer dun really wanna fail any1 so passed her haha. cos her off leash was lyk complete OFF n she laid down during her sit stay. n her come n heel was oso kinda crap so sigh. haha but o well gonna send her 4 intermediate since totally cannot handle her which u'd discover very soon y.

xy sis came back n gave her a new nick. it's called bei ke. muahahaha. n since hafta go bangkok sent her 2 boarding. sigh board is a prob dun board oso prob. cos during e cab ride back, was kinda really missing her, seeing as how she seems 2 haf taken over my life, n so haha embarrassingly cried. n my sis, xy, juz had 2 create a song tt goes like this... 'doggy bye bye, no more doggy, bagel bye bye, doggy bye bye'. haha n of cos she was so tickled at how i cried over the si bei ke tt she had 2 call my 2nd sis, xw, in US to share e 'joy' so both of them had a great laugh.

anws, during e trip, apprently while there i was thinking of her n spending $$ on her, bought her lotsa dog bowls, toys, bones etc, here she was at e boarding place having a great bufft all by herself. haha. on e 2nd day of e trip i received a sms frm e boarder n it went 'this is ur liability 2 date. ur dog chewed into a 9kg pack of cat food (dumb dog), 9 lamb rolls n 2 packets of spare ribs. so u might nt wanna spend so much in bk. haha' n yes bwahahah apparently when i went e lady was saying how she's kinda too fat n was gonna help her diet so tt she'd regain her waist but alas, bagel'd haf none of it. but fortunately, she did manage 2 regain her waist n is now on a 2 meal per day diet. ha.

o yes n on e very 1st day we brought her back she was incredibly guai. but soon, her sly 'doggy' tail was revealed n she reverted back 2 her old self, or i might say even worst. therefore e current headache n further obedience training. cos e boarder apparently noes how 2 handle her n indeed, in her shop n 1st day back she was lyk a totally dif dog. calm, obedient n thoroughly behaving as how a dog shld act. but think it might b cos her period coming thus entering into e rebellious teenagehood, n tt she might haf learnt it frm playing w other dogs. thus being e ah ta 1st time owner i m, totally do nt noe how 2 socialise her. bring her go dog run, scared she bcum wild, cos she did after e last trip. dun bring her, scared she nt socialised next time aggressive. so now all i noe is 2 make her sit stay upon seeing human or dog. sigh. o well gonna ask e trainer wad i shld do next. o yes n back 2 her recent annoying 'potential aggressive' phase. currently she'd try 2 hump me n when i say no or pull her away by e scruff of her neck, she persistently try again. when she realise she cannot she'd start jumping up 2 bite. n she'd just keep on coming n seeing as how it no longer seem kinda lyk puppy nipping, dunno if it's considered attacking. so yes gonna clarify w e trainer as well. den otherwise when she nips 4 attention it'd b super pain n again dunno how 2 stop her. so wad i did frm ppl's advices, was 2 close her muzzle, or even make her bite her paw 2 let her noe it hurts. n of cos when i close her muzzle she'd stop struggling after awhile but once i let go tt's when e biting frenzy begins. n den next when i try 2 stop her frm biting me cos it freakng hurts, tt's when she bares her teeth n 'attacks' with renewed frenzy. so yes. SUPER PEK CHEK now. n it's so bad tt i'm scared whoever goes into her baby gate area will get bitten. n reading bks n all, i realised tt hm sth SERIOUSLY wrong n nt rite here. so yup hopefully e trainer cld help, or tt this is a teenage thing n if i persevere n all she'd learn n e phase will pass. if nt really scared she'd grow up 2 haf dominance aggression kinda thing, since all these seems 2 be signs, as i was reading, of pups who later resulted 2 had dominance aggression. sigh. man. SERIOUS headache.

o yes n currently feeding her at 9 bring her go walk at 9+ to 10+ den 11-12 let her run arnd e house. at 12 den put her back into e baby gate area 2 slp, 5-6 or 4-5 let her out again. den after put her back 2 slp. 8/9 to 10 bring her go walk n den slp. haha so yup as 4 living arrangements wise guess she's healthier n happier cos e boarder tells me she most lykly lonely w my past arrangement whereby afternoon i let her slp den only morn n nite bring her go long long walk. o yes n being e smart dog she is bagel has learnt n is learning new tricks. learnt being paw n sleepy n learning crawl. so kudos :D

Few days ago, placed an ice cube in bagel's water dish resulting in her gulping lotsa water in order 2 get e ice cubes. so tada tot it was a gd idea 2 do tt 2 encourage her 2 drink more. but much 2 my amusement, when i did e same thing 2day, she actually 'dived' into e water 2 get e ice haha.

o yes n recently she managed 2 overcome her fear of stairs n will even run up n down. so 2day 4 fear of choking her when she ran down i let naively let go of e leash. n tada she ran thru e gaps in e divider n ran wild in e carpark. fortunately there wasn't any car arnd. haha totally playful n 'disobedient' girl. after so much training told her 2 come still bo chap me sigh.

o yes n den on our way back she flipped e bin over n i had 2 go clean e cigar ash. EW. haha but doubt she'd do it again since there was a humongous din when e bn crashed 2 e floor.

lastly, when ma approached bagel w a face mask, haha she actually jumped away.

o n yup bagel's 'paw' trick now is half learnt. can't do on cammand yet but can do on hand cue. so yupz.

Totally tired out :D

Finally she gets her food :p Here comes e notti dog looking increasingling grumpy as i make her wait for her food. usually she'd start off w a smile den slowly progress 2 licking her lips lying down den looking sien followed by grumpy. occassionally when she gets impatient will try 2 shiver abit but seeing no use she'd stop. think it's fake cos got one time think she tired den her hind legs shivered abit den i gave her release command 2 go eat n since den she'd try her dirty trick. o n 2day she tried sth new. she tried tearing haha but nt successful only brim got tears only den i told ma n we laughed abt it n her tears dried up n she resumed looking grumpy waiting for her release command 2 go eat.

Just moved to maple woods awhile back while current house is being renovated. so yep bagel has a new n bigger place 2 stay. 1st time she arrived peed correctly on e newspaper in e toilet after which started peeing everywhere. n whenever she went in2 e toilet she'd go bite e airco pipe so toilet is now banned n she pees on e newspaper outside e toilet. well most of e time anw. smart girl tho. within 1st day she cld alrdy open e doors n so can't really block her frm gg anywhere in t little area.

n i must say GROWL stupid girl tried 2 hump me 2day. dammit. after so long of training n wadnt

she actually dared 2 dominate n hump me. Brought Bagel to the dog run for the first time on sun. She had lotsa fun n so did we. Played with a 5 mths weimaranar that was much bigger than she. So due to the dif in size, it was basically e weimaranar mouthing her n her on her back trying 2 mouth back. Or to try unsuccessfully to jump onto e weimaranar to mouth her back. But it was all in gd fun as she went back for more when the weimaranar went for a water break. Btw, nt sure if weimaranar is spelt correctly but it's basically e big dark grey dog tt was in house 27 n pooed on e porch when e owner went out for a few days in a formation such that when the owner drives the car in, all wheels will nicely squash all the shit. :p

O n there was also a male westie that kept sniffing Bagel's chi chi, think he might wanna hump her. Haha but Bagel wld haf none of it n lifted her leg :o n wanted to piss at his face *faintz* haha but went 2 tap her foot down la otherwise the poor westie wld haf had pee shot to his face. N oso cos dun wanna let her cultivate e habit of marking. O but e westie still followed her after tt so think he must haf rather fancied her, haha, pedophilic westie since bagel is still far underaged.

Then rite b4 we left there came a huge boxer, which was quite sad cos everybody immediately left or carried their pooches up. Haha i must say i was guilty of carrying bagel as well both abit out of fear n oso cos she got snapped at by a jap spitz, understandably, for trying 2 drink his water. But after awhile seeing that e boxer was frenly n affirmed by e owner, i let bagel down. haha n this bu zhi tian gao di hou's dog went 2 ka chiao e boxer. But, haha, e boxer was 2 tired 2 play w her so just lay there 2 pant. very frenly tho very huge, he even shared his water with bagel. N tt's nt cos bagel didn't haf her own water but this girl always like 2 go drink other dog's water. One of these days confirm kanna bitten one, sigh.

O n after e dog run trip, bathed Bagel all by myself for e 1st time so yippee :D haha but den within 2 days she's smelly again since everytime after bath n she smells nice she'd go roll in her pee. SIGH. haha so maybe gonna bathe her again on thurs if wiping doesn't help.

In addition, teaching Bagel crawl n rolloverr now. But it's progressing really slowly cos she too kan cheong alrdy. anw will keep all updated haha esp if she manages 2 crawl n roll. :D o gonna go get a trick bk 2 teach her tricks :D

Bagel has now sumwad mastered her auto sit. She oso can sit stay even when in front of birds but nt very steady yet. teaching her down now which sumwad get sumwad dun. haha k so now tt's e gd side. haha on e bad side...

she has started 2 bark, howl, n whine incessantly everytime i leave e house n recently she has started back to shredding newspapers so as 2 get attention THROTTLES haha dunno if it's start of separation anxiety, attention seeking behaviour only or it's cos she now no longer has a box 2 slp in cos she has successfully destroyed ALL her boxes. e last box lasted barely 3-5 days as once she got it she decided on e task of chewing a hole at e bottom side of e box thus causing e entire box 2 crumble. n since i've removed her box she seemed abit insecure but on e other hand it might juz b me. o n e trainer said 2 choke her if she barks incessantly but i scared she bcum fearful of me or aggressive or even more unstable. sigh. but other den tt she's better behaved now so yippee.

On my way home from a gathering w a few of my frenz, my mum called. "Xiaoting! Ur dog ran away!" Yep apparently Bagel decided for herself tt since no one was gonna bring her out for a walk, despite having alrdy brought her 4 a 1 hr walk/training in e morn, she was gonna go herself. So wad she did was to push e playpen till there was a gap n promply burrowed out. N just nice the gate was open. So yup fortunately she's a tam jia dog n my dad managed to lure her back w a banana, hm or rather once she smelt n sighted e banana she ran over herself...haha o n another breakthru yest was tt when i came down after a bath i saw her lying prettily beside her shit, showing no intent of eating the shit :D haha n yup i checked n e shit weren't leftovers haha so yup o n more updates. recently this notti girl has started to bark n whine for attention fortunately it only last 5-10 min each time. n while she used to slp thru e day now she doesn't hm hopefully didn't unknowingly train her to bcum hyperactive. o n just as usual while training her she'd still give me lotsa love bites n recently she has gotten back her old fascination w my clothes so hopefully she'd nt leave any more holes in any more of my clothes. o n lastly she's terrified of umbrellas wun go near one even when coaxed w treats haha but training her nt 2 b so yup hopefully next time she wun shrink 2 a ball everytime she sees my umbrella haha altho cum 2 think of it it might actually b a gd thin tt she's actually scared of sth heh

Bringing Bagel out for her training class turned out to be a HORROR. THroughout the entire car ride she was going up n down up n down the passenger seat, refusing to be held still. N for the longest 15min car ride of my life, we finally reached bpp, whereupon she started to make 'frenz' w other doggies. Or rather terrorizing a few. Kinda worried now as to whether shld bring her to dog run as there's a likely chance tt she'd get bitten BUT on the other hand thik she'd really love to play w other dogs sigh...

After a week of intensive training which's arnd at least an hr per day, dear bagel still turned out to be e worst in class. sigh. haha well nvm tt'd just mean more training n man i absolutely REFUSE to believe tt i'd nt be able to train her into an obedient dog. humph.

yes well so anw on our way back home after the lesson, youus truly decided she needed to shit. haha n so poor ma was franticallyy trying to drive home as soon as possible while bagel barked n howled n paced arnd w her ass gg in n out. BUT thankfuly she managed to hold it in till we reached home. gd girl :D o n she tried to ite me this time when i tried to hold her still sigh sigh SIGH haha but xw worries nt i'm gonna get a carrier or sth to contain her for the next car ride so ur car's still in safe hands :p

Bagel's Arrival

Having wanted a dog for 6 years, my wish finally came true with Bagel! :D Haha, not forgetting the help from my 2 very wonderful sisters of course. ;p

Bagel arrived to our home sweet home on the 2nd week of March 2008, at a very young age of 2 months. Being e typical 1st time kiasu kiasi Singaporean owner, brought her for her 1st checkup before bringing her home. Unfortunately, she fell sick on the 2nd day, puking, diarrhoeaing and naturally refusing her food so back to the vet she goes. Could still vividly remember my trip to e vet where many owners commented on how young my puppy was, how easy it was for such a young puppy to die from diarrhoea and vomitting, how i shld nt haf gotten her at such a young age and how when she misbehaves in the future, if she survives, that it is all my fault... hm... And also of cos nt forgetting the very fortunate visit to the petshop beside the vet -petsfever.com - whereby i met the VERY nice shop owner. Seeing the poor puppy and haha the equally pathetic first time owner she was really nice and taught me how to take care of Bagel, what to do and even gave Bagel a free tee seeing that she seems to be freezing, unknown to me of cos. :p I must say though that petshop lady is REALLY very nice for after which, whenever i haf probs or need help/advice of any kind, she's always willing to provide the time to help me, haha embarrassingly though to the extent whereby during the first week she received phonecalls frm me practically everyday :s But anyways, after the visit to the petshop then, I haf decided to frequent the petshop and in fact, if there's anything that i'm looking for and they carry, i'm bound to buy from them seeeng their superb service and how much they haf helped me. Anyways, digressing from Bagel, haha afterall this blog is supposed to be all about her...

So yups, subsequent days of pumping meds and milk into her, she gradually recovered. Haha which was when we discovered her absolutely disgusting habits. Oh and i failed to mention the continuous howling at hourly intervals the 1st three nites which practically drove me NUTS! haha nt cute nt cute... so yes when she started to recover, we realise that she nt only eats her own shit, and still do if we'r nt fast enuf to pick them up, but also very much enjoys her own puke. So much so that at times she liked it SO very much she refuses to puke it out but just promptly swallows it back :S

Toilet training wise she'd pee and poo correctly in her playpen but once out, everywhere's her toilet so still trying to work on that although sadly she doesn't actually get much time outta her 6pc playpen as my whole house is practically wood and cloth and when she's out in e noon she refuses to slp so back to the playpen in the noon for her beauty rest n wadnts. O a method which worked very effectively to train her to pee on the newspaper was to let her out when she does pee there. But this was used only once since she went to the garden and promptly ate a slug. But it was quite cute cos once we put her back in she'd drink lotsa water to try n pee to b let out, which was gd since drinking more water'd make her healthy. Haha at least tt's my tots :p

Yes so after the 1st week brought her for her 1st bath which once again, the petshop lady was very nice and showed me how to bathe her n all. And in there she met a SUPER adorable shit tzu puppy called heidi. haha n heidi turned out to b her only fren since being over frenly n hyper she seems to b e terror of our neighbourhood n other dogs always run after the initial sniffing. O n i forgot to mention our bad experience from the place where we got Bagel. So the story goes...

The guy from whom we bought Bagel from nt only told us 2 feed Bagel human milk powder but also adult dog food which obviously wasn't suitable. However, nt knowing so i bought 3 large packs of dog food which i later found out was nt only unsuitable but highly unhealthy for dogs. Anw they r all gone n given to my uncle to feed strays. In addition, they oso tot me to bathe bagel by merely putting her under the running tap w her sputtering and also recommended me to buy lotsa stuffs that wasn't needed. But o wells i guess i can't really blame them for my purchases since ultimately nobody can actually force me to buy anything n i only haf my ignorance to blame. So wellz... enuf complaining haha
